We grew out of a dream that began in 1987, long before the Internet, when Rob Cosgrove, the developer of the core BackUPMAX technology, performed the world’s very first remote backup and restore, saving a hospital’s prenatal database after a direct lightning strike destroyed their Server.

From that lightning-strike beginning, the technology and the culture of the company grew into the industry defining group of smart, committed (if not slightly unusual) characters it is today.
